Photo by Kat HarrisIt is easy to imagine when you step off the elevator into Mark Ingram Atelier that you are walking into an intimate couture house in Paris. The foyer is warm and intimate with only a small selection of gowns hanging for you to peruse while you wait for your consultant to greet you. Soon you are brought to your dressing room to meet your consultant and this is when the personalized service that Mark Ingram Atelier is known for begins. Unlike at other salons, your consultant will stick with you from your first appointment through your final fitting, becoming the BFF you never knew you needed.

Mr. Ingram travels the world to shop for the gowns he features in his Atelier. And while he currently has about twenty top notch bridal designers on his roster, you won’t find many that have a large sampling of their collection represented. That’s because Mark curates his collection to address the needs of his clientele. He features all the big American names, such as Oscar de la Renta, Monique Lhuillier, Vera Wang and Naeem Khan, as well as some of the best designers from Europe, the Middle East and Australia, and is currently the only salon in Manhattan to carry it designer-of-the moment Inbal Dror.
Prices for gowns begin around $5,000 and go up to $28,000, with the average price point falling in the $7,000 to 12,000 range. Alterations are in-house and are determined individually, typically ranging from 8% to 15% of the cost of your gown. Most weekends feature a trunk show, so call ahead to see when a designer you are interested in will be featured. A full roster of bridal and evening wear (perfect for MOB or MOG) is listed on the website, as well as upcoming events. Appointments are taken only by phone, and we recommend if you want a Saturday or an evening weekday appointment you call in advance.
