When we attended a bridal fashion show at the Park Hyatt New York on West 57th Street in 2014 we were in awe of the space. The ballroom’s high, and we mean high, ceilings with dramatic white onyx wall created a clean, crisp space with a definite nod to contemporary design. We wondered what a wedding would look like in this new Midtown space, so when Amanda at Bespoke Moments emailed us with photos from a styled shoot she directed there we had to see them. And once we did, we had to share them.
Amanda put together an amazing team of some of the area’s top talents, including baker Ron Ben-Israel, designer Amsale, and a hair and makeup team from SB Beauty.
The Park Hyatt is timeless yet current, and combines a sense of exclusive luxury with everyday accessibility.—Amanda
The vignettes feature different couples, in various settings of the hotel, and wedding details that coordinate beautifully with the spaces: the sweeping staircase, the building’s exterior, ballroom, and various spaces that you can host your wedding at the Park Hyatt New York.
The stark color palette and rich textures of the space inspired Amanda’s palette and themes for each story. “I chose muted linens with a variety of textures from Nuage to complement the clean china and cutlery,” she tells Twirl New York. “And Ron Ben-Israel beautifully married masculinity and femininity with dark navy and crisp lines.”
“One of the most important elements in curating an event,” advises Amanda, “is picking a venue that meets the look. The design that comes after the venue selection—flowers, linens, food and attire—should all fall in line accordingly.”
