Ayisha, an attorney for talent agency WME/IMG, and David, an Accounting Manager for J.Lindeberg, met freshman year at Villanova University, but it took 10 years before they walked down the aisle. Starting as best friends, they began dating their junior year, and continued their long-distance relationship for three years after college before David proposed.

The couple wed at The Yale Club in what the bride describes as a classic elegant and romantic affair. The underlying theme of the day was ‘New York glamour at its finest’ and included white and cream-colored flowers designed by Atlas Floral. To create the timeless and glam look the couple wanted Atlas Floral mixed a variety of blooms: peonies, roses and hydrangeas. Ayisha tells Twirl New York that her favorite part of the decor were the florals. “I wished I could have taken them home. They were so gorgeous!”

For her gown, she chose an off-the-shoulder, French lace and satin ball gown with a drop waist and 3/4 sleeves by Pronovias at the Spanish designer’s flagship salon on East 52nd Street. “It made me feel like New York Glamour!”

With a summer wedding in the City, the couple and bridal party could take advantage of the quiet(er) streets and pose for pictures along the iconic New York streetscape. “We took photos before the ceremony around Midtown,” the bride explains. “I didn’t plan for my dress being dragged around the streets and getting dirty, but my bridesmaids cleaned me up in time for the ceremony.”

While there isn’t much this couple would have done differently, like many couples, they barely had time to enjoy the great food provided by The Yale Club. “The guests loved the food,” she adds. “We wish we actually got to eat it.” Not a bad regret, as they can always go back on their anniversary.
