The dance floor will be packed all night long with a DJ or band from this entertainment company
WHO Jason Fioto
WHAT One of the city’s most sought after DJs
WHERE On the preferred list at the city’s top venues, but you can book them anywhere
WHY Because a DJ or band can make or break your party, and a great one will kill it
The first time we met Jason Fioto, owner of Generation Events, was at a bridal showcase at Bloomingdale’s on 59th Street in 2008. Ever since then we have heard him DJ at various bridal events, and while we always enjoyed what he played it wasn’t until he took over the gala at Engage! (a wedding summit) last year that we really appreciated his skills behind the turntable. He turned a fun party into a wild one in a matter of seconds. And when the hired DJ kicked him off the stage the boos were louder than the music.
Launched in 2005, Generation Events has been added to the short list of preferred music and entertainment companies at discerning planners and venues across the city. Known for a modern and personal approach to wedding and event entertainment, the client’s experience is just as important to Jason and his team as the wedding day “performance.”
In addition to DJs, you can hire ceremony musicians, cocktail hour ensembles, live bands, specialty acts and even photo booths. Their music styles include pretty much everything from modern and sophisticated to classic and traditional, and their experience will ensure that the music fits the mood of each act in your event: getting and keeping the crowd on the dance floor, subtle yet entertaining background music for dinner, etc.
While you can’t hear their work in the pages of a magazine, the company has been featured in Martha Stewart Weddings, Inside Weddings and on Style Me Pretty.
DJs, instrumentals, jazz musicians, dance bands for receptions, cover bands and singers are all available. Pricing is based on the service, number of musicians hired, and travel, if required. Starting price for a DJ is $3,000. 8-piece band at $10,000.
