RAINBOW ROOM Newly renovated, this art-deco space is more than ready to host its fair share of high-class weddings. In fact, it’s only open to the public for Sunday brunch and Monday evenings, making this top-notch event space the perfect place to show your guests a New York City view in all its splendor, day or night. Eyal Tessler of Tessler Events says, “The Rainbow Room is one of my favorites places with the best view of the New York City skyline…the window treatments allow for great views from any room. And it’s one of the only places with a great clear balcony.”
THE RIVER CAFE Many people don’t realize it, but to fully appreciate our city’s amazing skyline, you need to be across the river in Brooklyn to truly see it in its full glory. The River Cafe in Dumbo, under the Brooklyn Bridge, accommodates up to 100 guests, 80 if you plan on dancing. Weddings can take place day or night, for lunch or dinner. For swoon-worthy views of the city, this is the best place to say “I do”.
TRIBECA ROOFTOP For those looking for a loft vibe, head downtown to the TriBeCa Rooftop. You can enjoy this bare space with minimal decor additions, or go all out with ornate florals, lighting and other accoutrements. The rooftop is a great locale for ceremonies and cocktail hours, and if you time your ceremony right, guests can see the New York skyline along with the sunset. Now what’s a better view than that?
TRUMP SOHO Tessler loves this space for the “amazing views of downtown, Brooklyn and the Hudson. The [13′] floor-to-ceiling windows make this the perfect location for an intimate wedding reception, cocktail hour, or dessert and dancing up in the sky.” Forty-six floors above Manhattan, along with Trump Soho’s high standards for events, and you’ve got a recipe for a romantic event that is modern, elegant and lavish in a venue that celebrates the city along with the couple getting married.
THE GLASSHOUSES Located at the Chelsea Arts Tower and built as a loft, “The great thing about The Glasshouses is it has nice, clean finishes so it doesn’t feel industrial,” says Tessler. You can rent one or two floors, allowing guests to move throughout the space, creating a nice flow and spaciousness for your event. With views of the Hudson River, Downtown and Midtown Manhattan, each space can accommodate up to 200 guests for cocktail parties and 150 guests for sit-down dinners.
