This international planner and designer can create whatever your heart desires from an ornate ballroom affair to a traditional rustic celebration
Bryan Rafanelli has been keeping himself under the radar (or trying to at least). He’s not one of the celebrity wedding planners who are often quoted in People or US Weekly, yet more and more A-list brides and grooms are calling him up for star-studded affairs that are more understated than flashy. It doesn’t mean Bryan and his team can’t do over the top. They have. But what you’ll get from a Rafanelli Events wedding is a true reflection of who you are as a couple, highlighting your style and tastes.
For example, when Chelsea Clinton wed in 2010, the wedding received a lot of attention from the media, so while the black-tie affair could have been held in any New York ballroom, it was held upstate, at a private home that would keep the paparazzi at bay while still giving the couple the formal affair they wanted with all the bells and whistles – stunning florals, one of the best wedding bands in the country and a multi-tiered wedding cake. He even had small gifts with a personal note sent to each of the neighboring homes apologizing for the traffic jams and noise. That’s what he’s all about: the smallest details that will pack the biggest punch.

And while we could go on and on about the many boldface names who have hired Rafanelli Events over the past 20 years – Allison Williams, Jesse Tyler Ferguson – we won’t, because their events have intentionally been kept out of the press so we only know about them from a single image posted on Instagram.
Founded in 1996, Bryan Rafanelli and his team produce over 100 events a year. They have planned and designed weddings in over a dozen states and several countries. Starting with a strategic approach to wedding planning and design, there’s no talk of the latest wedding trends or what a recent celebrity client did for their own wedding. That’s because a Rafanelli event takes its inspiration from each individual couple.
The producer overseeing your event will talk with you to create a story for your wedding, which highlights everything from your favorite foods to the music you like to dance to. “We focus on presenting each client’s personality,” Bryan Rafanelli tells Twirl New York. “Every event is a unique creative challenge deserving of a one-of-a-kind approach. Each of our brides has her own personal style and Rafanelli Events brings her vision to life in a way even she never imagined.”
So how do they do that? Bring a bride and groom’s vision to life? In addition to basic logistics and overall design, Rafanelli Events will consult with you on your catering and entertainment options, help design guest room gifts, manage your invitation mailing and RSVPs, they’ll be on-site the day of the wedding and work with you to develop your wedding ceremony and day-of timeline. For a destination wedding their team can manage hotel room blocks and your guests travel arrangements. They can recommend wedding vendors in every category and make sure you’re a perfect fit for each one.
In addition to the celebrity weddings we’ve mentioned, their work – real weddings, advice and design ideas – have been featured in Town & Country, Martha Stewart Weddings, the knot, BRIDES, The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal. Here’s his welcome bag do’s and don’ts tips from the Spring 2016 issue of Twirl New York.
