Most wedding stories recall the romantic ceremony, the celebratory reception and the couple in love. For Philippa and Clint, one must start with the “getting ready” moments, where the bridal party, donning personalized, matching robes, had fun from the moment they reached the Waldorf-Astoria to get pampered and dressed up for this formal affair. With champagne flutes, toasts, and some laughter, the women had fun as they dressed, put on their floral crowns, and toasted the bride-to-be. The bride and her mother then took a classic checkered cab to St. Ignatius Loyola church for their traditional ceremony.
After the ceremony, the newlyweds and their guests headed north to Yonkers, for a reception at Alder Manor, a historical mansion. The more suburban vibe of their new surroundings was evident as specialty cocktails were served on the back stone porch which overlooks the Hudson River.
The bridal party took beautiful pictures on the grounds, and then enjoyed a fun reception with music by Hank Lane‘s Russ Bennett Band. Guests were seated at long banquet tables dressed with alternating high and low centerpieces, candles, greenery, and gold-embellished place cards. The wedding was formal, elegant, and full of romance.
