Spring 2016’s Top Wedding Gowns

The “It” Gowns

The ONE dress from the 2016 Spring/Summer Collections you will find in these NYC Salons

The runways have been walked, the parties have ended and the frantic posts of trends has slowed.  Now it’s crunch time for bridal fashion buyers as they narrow down their buys for the next season.  Of the plethora of gowns that were shown, which ones will end up in New York’s top salons?  We asked the buyers and fashion directors from top NYC boutiques what was the one dress from the past market that they have to have in their store and why.

Terry Hall, Kleinfeld Fashion Director

“On trend with the many plunging necklines and backlines shown on the runways at bridal market, this lightweight number by Tony Ward is the perfect combination of elegance and a hint of sexiness. The sheer illusion bodice and a-line silhouette accentuates the brides collarbone and thin waist. This dress is unique in the special embossed Gazar Cloqué skirt and detailed lace appliqués on the bodice– perfect for an outdoor or indoor ceremony.”

“Phyllis” by Tony Ward for Kleinfeld.  Off white a-line with Gazar Cloqué skirt and a patchwork lace bust with sheer plunging neckline and backline.  Now available at Kleinfeld, 110 West 20th Street at Sixth Ave., (646) 633-4300

Beth Chapman,

The White Dress by the Shore

“Versailles by Anne Barge is perfect for The White Dress by the Shore bride because it is pretty and feminine.  It is on trend with it’s elegant plunging neckline and illusion back, but it still has a classic feel, which my clients love, and of course, it also has a sweet bow!”

“Versailles” by Anne Barge.  Plunging V-neck tulle gown of tone on tone three dimensional beading and embroidery throughout bodice and skirt.  Coming soon to The White Dress by the Shore, 104 East Main Street at Waterside Lane, Clinton, CT.  (860) 669-4569

Gabriella Risatti, Gabriella New York

“My favorite gown from market is Azalea by Marchesa.  I don’t even know how to put into words how much I love this gown!  The long, dramatic sheer train with 3D flowers creates a show stopping look that evokes femininity, beauty and the wow factor brides are looking for.  I love the fact that a bride can get this kind of drama from a gown that is still figure flattering.  I think anyone would agree, this is just a beautiful dress – period.”

“Azalea” by Marchesa.  Ivory strapless re-embroidered lace sheath dress with hand draped tulle overlay accented with 3D floral bouqet and silk satin belt.  Coming soon to Gabriella New York, 155 Wooster Street Unit 3W at E. Houston St., Soho (212) 206-1915

Sania Recupero, Manager of The Wedding Salon of Manhasset

“Aviva by Monique Lhuillier.  It is light, new, frothy and couture!!! A perfect black tie wedding dress!!”

“Aviva” by Monique Lhuillier.  Embellished tulle, long sleeve illusion waist full ballgown with horsehair layered skirt.  Coming soon to The Wedding Salon of Manhasset, 1468 Northern Boulevard at Strathmore Rd.,
(516) 869-8455

Mark Ingram, Mark Ingram Atelier

“Of all the sheer/nude beaded and embroidered gowns that I saw this market, this Zuhair Murad was uber-chic, romantic, and fine. Although sheer and sexy it still feels regal and truly bridal. The detachable over-skirt was expertly executed and creates the grandeur necessary for a formal traditional wedding, however the slim bare mermaid beneath is the ultimate party dress.”

“Perla” dress and overskirt by Zuhair Murad.  Lace applique sheer sheath with detachable overskirt.  Coming soon to Mark Ingram Atelier, 110 East 55th Street at Park Ave. Midtown. (212) 319-6778
