MUSEUM OF THE CITY

OF NEW YORK

Nothing says classic, or classy, like saying “I Do” on Museum Mile with breathtaking views of Central Park

Museum of City New YorkThe Museum is housed in a Georgian Colonial-Revival building that opened in 1932.

Whether you’re a tried and true New Yorker or just want to celebrate this great city, no venue better exemplifies the historic nature and energy of NYC than the Museum of the City of New York. The landmarked building on 5th avenue, (aka Museum Mile), includes two terraces available for events. (In chillier weather the outdoor areas can be tented).

With a sweeping staircase, marble floors, and Georgian details, the museum also boasts views of Central Park.Bands and/or DJs can play well into the night; with no residential neighbors, there are no limits on what time the music, or the party, has to end (even on the outdoor terraces).

The Museum of the City of New York is a venue that captures the history and spirit of the City.—Loulie Walker, Loulie Walker Events

And while you don’t have to be a member to have an event at The MCNY, you do need to pay a venue rental fee of $18,000 (but 83% of it is tax deductible and it is also the staffing fee). Your event must start no earlier than 6:30pm, and use Great Performances, the museum’s exclusive caterer. They welcome any type of religious ceremony and any components that might require. For the couple that was either born here, met here, or fell in love here, MCNY is a unique spot that celebrates this city along with the couple getting married. The MCNY holds a maximum of 300 guests, depending on the size of the dance floor.
