Maddie & Hawkins were both medical students completing their residencies while planning their elegant and relaxed wedding. They decided on a rustic country affair at the Mashomack Preserve Club in Pine Plains, New York. The ceremony was at Good Shepard Church in Rhinebeck and could not have been a better match for both the intimacy and style they were going for.
“It was spring so we also wanted a lot of light colors. The bridesmaids were in light pink, the flowers were mostly white, and the groomsmen were in linen kakhi suits with lite purple ties. We hoped we could have most of it outdoors as well, and the weather cooperated very nicely,” recalls the bride.
While the groom and groomsmen walked to the church from the Beekman Arms & Delamater Inn where they got ready, the bridesmaids traveled in a little yellow school bus. Maddie & her dad rode in a vintage baby blue Pontiac, which later provided a nice touch in photos as well as a pop of color during the waterfront cocktail hour.
The floral arrangements were created by David Thieringer of Mashomack. He kept the feeling of a country wedding with natural greenery mixed in with blush toned florals.
The evening ended with a fireworks display over the lake and a sparkler send off for the new couple who enjoyed every moment of their special day.
