Holly & Adam

Creative and charming, artsy yet fashionable, Holly and Adam created a romantic and old world affair to celebrate not only their wedding, but their longstanding (over a decade) relationship. Both fine artists, the couple grew up in Mystic, Connecticut, and chose this picturesque town as the backdrop for their celebration. Having both worked at Anthropologie and Urban Outfitters as Display Coordinators, these two know how to dress a set. They infused their wedding with whimsical handmade touches and heirloom details so that it was a true portrait of their lives together. Using paper as a common thread in kites, hearts, streamers, paper airplanes, flags and table runners, Holly and Adam kept their celebration personal yet stylish.

The bride’s grandfather, a Justice of the Peace, performed the ceremony in his backyard on the bank of the Mystic river, and a casual reception followed under a starry tent on a dock in downtown Mystic. Serenaded by the quirky bluegrass sounds of the band Folk Y’all, guests ate wood-fired pizza from a local pizza truck and flag-topped cupcakes from a local bakery. The night ended with a release of oversized balloons and pub crawl downtown.

It was the quintessential summer night surrounded by those closest to us that we will cherish for the rest of our lives together. —Holly
