When it comes to choosing a wedding venue, city couples sometimes seek out an alternative to the urban setting they live and work in every day. So was the case for Dana, who grew up on a horse farm and loves the outdoors. When she and her college sweetheart Ben, started planning their wedding, they knew they wanted a location that combined a beautiful outdoor setting with a romantic and stylish, yet timeless feel. And when they saw the Wainwright House in Rye they knew they found the ideal venue. “The beautiful stone mansion, wonderful grounds, and amazing view of the Long Island Sound—we knew it was the place where our wedding would be,” Dana tells Twirl New York.
I had so much fun throughout the planning process. Choosing all of our vendors and sharing with them the vision I had. I loved every second of watching the day unfold.—Dana
Dana works in the fashion industry, so she knows style. While she didn’t have a theme in mind for the wedding, she wanted it to be all about romance with lots of lace, flowers, candles, and soft hues. And as a detail-oriented, creative and organized person, she took on the task of wedding planner herself.
