Cheree Berry Paper
Stationery that’s traditional with a twist now offered at Target
Cheree Berry‘s heart is in the details of every one of her wedding stationery designs. You can’t help but smile when coming across her witty text and use of playful colors. “We love to put our reception cards in a mini envelope with lead-in copy, flood it with foil or even make it a pop-up moment,” she told Twirl New York. Her lively wedding stationery designs are refreshing for couples and help get the party started leading up to the big day. Find her newest collection at Target in-store and online with prices ranging from $4.99 to $19.99. Read on for a peek at her collection!
Why did you decide to create a stationery line for Target?
We wanted to create an accessible line of occasion-focused stationery. Depending on the celebration, it’s not always necessary to send a custom invitation – not everyone has the budget, timeline or desire. So we designed a line of off-the-shelf occasion-focused stationery for Target. Our vision for Target was to use the same CBP design aesthetic, sensibility and tone that we use for our core custom invitation business – conceptual designs in fun formats that are full of unexpected details. Currently our Target products include stationery for weddings and baby.
How would you describe your design aesthetic?
We gravitate toward playful and clever. But we have an understated, sophisticated side. Combined, we call it traditional with a twist. For instance, our Target gold foil fill-in save the date is very elegant however, what makes it playful is the mix of hand lettering with the fun copy, “Wear your dancing shoes!” And our XOXO/THX set of stationery has a very bold and modern look, but we named the set, “X Marks the Thought” for a playful concept of sending notes of love and thanks.
How did you showcase the importance of personalized items?
There are fill-in moments where the customer writes in his/her details. But we made this a low-maintenance commitment. You might call it Light DIY. We love that there is a handwritten element on each card. You don’t find this level of personalization in your mailbox much anymore and it gives each card character.
Which item is your favorite from the Target line?
The “Love that you’re here” paper chargers available at Target.com are my favorite. These impressive die-cut, gold foil flat plates will dress up any table. They are perfect for those ancillary wedding events, too – wedding showers, engagement parties, rehearsal dinners.
Which item do you wish you could have had at your own wedding?
I wish I would have used the “Will You Be My Bridesmaid?” cards to ask my girlfriends to be in my wedding party and then followed through with the cheeky statement on the card!
Do you anticipate more collections in the future?
This is not a one-off collection, but we’re not sure of the rhythm yet. We are excited to announce a line of everyday cards that will be in stores nationwide this summer.
