Annie and Neil wanted a wedding that was romantic, had a playful vibe, and a celebratory feel, and that is exactly what they got at The Bowery Hotel. The bride tells Twirl New York they were, “drawn to the distinct charm and timeless design” of the downtown Manhattan hotel.
“Belle Fleur brought our vision to life, creating breathtaking floral design, accents, and tablescapes,” Annie says. With tall taper candles creating a romantic glow, and low floral arrangements of peonies, roses, and other soft blooms in glass vases, the long rectangular tables had a communal feeling, while also remaining formal.
Music was a very important component of the evening for Annie and Neil and they set the tone for the night with a string trio that welcomed guests as they arrived for the ceremony and continued into the cocktail hour, putting a whimsical spin on classics by The Beatles, Cat Stevens, Led Zeppelin, Louis Armstrong, and Sting. The string trio from the ceremony and cocktail hour then joined the band to kick off the reception performing a beautiful rendition of The Book of Love by The Magnetic Fields.
Starlight Orchestras ensured that the dance floor was packed into the early morning hours. “We witnessed even the most modest guests throw down moves we never would have imagined from them,” remembers Annie.
To us there was no better place to have our closest friends and family come together to help us celebrate our wedding.—Annie
Sliders, pigs-in-a-blanket and truffled popcorn were late night snacks brought out to help guests refuel as the night went on.
To cap off the evening, the band played an extended version of Hey Jude and the whole crowd sang along, “a most fitting wrap to a magical whirlwind day that was so much more than we ever could have dreamed.”
